Island County ended the month of October with a total of 139 single-family residential and condominium homes sold, which shows a decrease from last month’s 153 homes sold and the 177 homes sold this same month last year. Of those sales from October, 5 were condominium sales and 11 were new construction.

The median sale price of residential homes for this area is $336,000 which is down from the $362,750 we saw last month. We are seeing a decrease from the $354,500 that was recorded this same time last year.

The median sale price of condominiums for Island County is $216,000. Condos are showing an increase from the $203,000 recorded last year.

What Does this Data Mean?

We began the month of November with a total of 387 active single-family and condominium homes available in Island County. This number is down from the 408 active listings recorded this same month in 2017 and shows a decrease from the 410 last month.

Of these active listings, 17 are condominium homes, which shows an improvement over the 19 recorded in October of 2017. However, there are more active listings right now when year over year comparisons are made.

What does this mean if you’re buying a house in Island County?

There were 154 new listings added to the Island County real estate market in October. This number is down from the 165 that was listed in October of 2017, and it also shows a drop from the 165 new listings last month.

There were 9 new listings this month, which is similar to the number recorded this time last year. Of the active listings for this month, 22 are new construction residential homes.
